Methotrexate is a good drug for relieving the pain and inflammation in RA patients.
Being an immunosuppressant it does cause slight anemia, and lowers the resistance of the body to fight infections. In some cases, it can cause nausea, vomiting, and jaundice. However, the benefits have to be weighed against the risks, and the decision needs to be made.
