Headache, blurred vision after BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY. Cause?

Resolved question:
Had breast reduction surgery 12 days ago, day of surgery had headache and was very stressed. after surgery still had headache and some blurred vision . I'm still getting headaches 12 days later stress makes them worse. my vision doesn't seem as clear as before surgery, but maybe it's from the headache's I keep getting. I honestly think these headaches are migraines now that were triggered from surgery. I know they gave me a cocktail of meds. including Zofran scopolamine patch, so I didn't have nausea , pain meds profofol and I'm sure other meds that I'm not even aware of. Any advice on these headaches I also have high eye pressure every time I see the eye doctor, 21-22, they always say probably not accurate?? Could high eye pressure have an effect on General surgery causing headaches?? One last comment being nervous before surgery I was noticing palpitation's if they were of importance would they have showed up during my surgery on the monitors??? your advice please.......I was not having headaches like this prior to surgery :(

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms and I agree with you that they are suggestive of severe migraines. Migraine is known to get exacerbated with surgery and anaesthesia.
As of now, you can take rizatriptan as and when necessary to relieve the headache. A course of naproxen and divalproex may be used to prevent the headaches.
High eye pressure may be contributing to the pain. If needed, please check with the eye doctors and start the treatment for that too.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,

the high eye pressure, why do you think they have never treated it? I know 2 years old patientago when I went they took pictures of my optic nerve with some special machine and it was perfectly normal, could that have changed in two years old patienttime with high eye pressure? even though I was feeling palpatations prior to surgery no one mentioned anything about them when I was being monitored during surgery. so would that indicate there were no events on montir during my surgery????

Hello,
21-22 is borderline, and anything more than 20, we start the monitoring for eye pressure.
It can definitely be causing the headache, and could act as one of triggers of your migraine.
Palpitations could be due to the anxiety also, it is difficult to comment whether they monitored it or not.
As of now, it's my humble request to you, get another ophthalmology opinion, and get the tonometry done to check for the eye pressures.
Regards.
