Headaches getting worse after head injury, normal CT SCAN.

Resolved question:
was in a car crash 5 weeks ago. the airbag did not deploy and i hit my head on the steering wheel. i went to the ER they looked me over and had 10 stitches put in my lip. i blacked out for less that 30 seconds. had a ct scan done about 56 hours after the crash as i stated having headaches. the ct scan should nothing wrong. i went back to a doctor 3 weeks ago as i was still having headaches. he looked me over and said it wad probably post concussion syndrome. its been five weeks and i still having them. the headaches are in the front of my head and on the top and on the lest side. i am worried that something is wrong. the headaches are not getting worse, bat are not going away either. i have a mri in 6 days should i wait for mri or get it looked at sooner.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
The condition that you are having is basically Social Phobia. This is a disorder of anxiety and occurs cause of imbalance of certain neurotransmitters in the brain. especially serotonin, nor adrenaline, and dopamine to some extent. Medicines are the best options to take care of these symptoms. Paroxetine is the the most popular medicine and my drug of choice. I generally prescribe my patients 12.5 mg per day at night which takes care of anxiety symptoms. Also certain medicines like propranolol and clonazepam can be give as required when there is a panic episode or expected situation where panic attack can appear.
Also there is an option of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness.
Further regarding your bed wetting issue, this can be managed with imipramine 25 mg at night. The results are better if this medical therapy is clubbed with behavioural therapy. Do meet a psychiatrist to get these medicines prescribed and also a psychologist for the cognitive behavioural therapy for phobia and behavioural therapy for bed wetting.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
Wish you good health,
Kind regards
Dr. Srikanth Reddy M.D.

Hello,
I apologize for the exceptional delay in replying and thank you for your kind patience.
I generally prescribe paroxetine 12.5mg and then increase it to 25mg to be taken once at night. This medication needs to be taken for at least 8-10months.
Regarding the prescription, since DoctorSping is an online form, we are not legally permitted to prescribe medicine without physically examining you. These laws were created to enable patient safety above all else. Furthermore, my prescription may not be valid in your country and have to be from a local doctor.
Feel free to discuss further, I hope this helps

Thanks for your self-explanatory responses Doctor Reddy. My last question is that, is there any side effect to taking this medications especially; on sexual performance though not involving in any yet as i will be getting married next year, on kidney, heart, or any other body organ.
However, I would be very greatful if I had an experience Doctor like you as my Doctor and also if this medications could completely wipe out this unnecessary fear, improve my memory, analythical thinking and decision making.

Hello,
Thanks for the follow up.
Most of the patients whom I have started on this medicine have not reported any such side effect. Some of them did report improvement in the sexual orgasm duration though.
Kind regards
