Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
All your reports are fine ( the hormonal levels ) which rules out any thyroid disorders or gynaecology problems.
You have slight anemia, and that can be easily corrected.
Also your cholesterol is again slightly elevated, which can also be controlled.
Can you post what are your symptoms and why you got the tests done? And if you are on any current medications? This will help me guide you further,
Regards.

Thank you for the reply.
The reason why I went to get a check (very easy here in Thailand to do) is because I wanted to see if I had any hormone problems because of my Melasma. I have read online (this must be a disaster for doctors!) about the possible connection between thyroid etc.
I want to start treating myself from the inside out!
Anyway about 2 weeks ago I did a fast for a week and gave up meat. I love vegetables and have been just sticking to this after the fast. However I DO drink alcohol everyday.
What can I do to reduce my cholestrol? Should I give up alcohol?
How can I control my anemia?
I must also mention (sorry!) that I have been feeling unwell today before the test, very run down. Perhaps this has something to do with it?
Thanks again for your time.

Hello,
Anemia could be causing fatigue and tiredness for sure, but your levels are not significantly or alarmingly low.
For anemia, you should have lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, pomegranate, cereals ( like corn flakes fortified with iron ), and you can start Syrup. Fefol ( Iron + Folic Acid ) 10 ml twice daily. You can recheck your values after 3 months.
For cholesterol first I will advise dietary modification, switching over to low oil-low fat diet, and exercise daily 30-45 minutes of brisk walking will be very helpful.
Do this for 3 months, and we will get your cholesterol levels checked. If it is still high, you can statt STATIN therapy.
Yes you should give up alcohol as it has a lot of health benefits apart from lowering cholesterol too.
Regards.
