High CHOLESTEROL, THYROID HORMONES in blood test. Treatment.

Resolved question:
I had a medical Checkup recently and the Test results showed that I have High Cholesterol and Thyroid problem.

Thyroid Stimulation Hormone(TSH) -- 15.47 uIU/mL
LDL Cholesterol -- 179 mg/dl

Total Cholesterol -- 248

I had got this done in diagnostics center and they had the results reviewed by a Physician as part of the package for Checkup and he suggested following medicines for 100 days:

1. Thyronorm 50 mcg
2. ROSUVAS 40

He advised me basic diet for Cholesterol ,but later on i came to know that i have to take some precautions with respect to food for Thyroid as well, he did not mention this, so i want to know this and also thinking if i can go for a checkup again.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Your recent ultrasound shows right sided hydronephrosis. Hydronephrosis is the swelling of the kidney secondary to some obstruction. You should get yourself investigated further to find out its cause. The investigation of choice for yourself is NCCT KUB.
In addition, you should get serum uric acid levels done.
We shall review you with these investigations. There is nothing major to worry about.

Feel free to discuss further,
Sincerely

Hello Rajiv,

Thanks for the feedback. I had a KUB done which revealed i had a stone which is 0.32cm.
Could this be a cause? also i noticed white discharge today.
Kindly advice further.
Regards,
Sola

Hello,
The stone is in the kidney and shall not cause swelling.
The swelling is because of another stone in the ureter. The whitish discharge can be because of stone or raised uric acid.
Get the two mentioned investigations and get back to me.

Feel free to discuss further,

Sincerely
Rajiv Goel
