How long ABORTION PILL take to have effect?

Resolved question:
I have some questions about a pregnancy with my girlfriend. I have some suspiscions that she may have lied about being pregnant to get me to come to her in Korea.

Around May 15 is her last known period but it's possible it started a few days earlier.

On June 2nd she visits me in Vietnam where I was living (she was living in Philippines at the time) and we start having sex until June 8th when she goes back to Philippines

June 12th she takes a do-it-yourself pregnancy test and is positive. About a week later she takes another one and it is also positive.

On June 14th she flies to Korea to start a post university career.

She buys abortion pills on the black market and starts taking them late June.

I arrive in Seoul on July 2nd. It soon becomes aparent that whatever she's taking isn't working so she goes to a doctor to get checked up on July 11th (I wasn't there - yes I've handled the situation poorly). He supposedly gives her more pills and tells her it will take longer and to take them everyday. But as I understand it abortion pills work very quickly and something should happen within days.

Right now she is working at a universtiy summer camp in another city until Friday when she will return to Seoul in the evening. She says she's started bleeding and is cramping.

Are there any abortion pills that a doctor would prescribe that would take this long to take effect? And can she have tested positively to pregnancy so soon after having sex before me (and why wouldn't she at least wait until her period is overdue?)?

Thanks.

Hello. Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
Pregnancy tests are most conclusive when taken a day or two after the missed period, however, in some cases, they can be positive a couple of days earlier.
It is possible the test might be possible on June 12th.
As to , why did she not wait , it could be because she had unprotected sex around ovulation time, and was suspicious and wary of a pregnancy, so she took a test early out of undue anxiety.
Abortion pills are given over a matter of maximum 1 - 3 days, not longer.
They work within a few days, but a follow up visit is scheduled after 15 days, to ensure that complete bleeding and spotting has finished and the process is complete.
Is she still taking the pills ?
When has her follow up visit been scheduled ?
Take care, and feel free to write further.

Is it possible that the pills she bought on the black market were weak and did not do the job properly? And then when she went to the clinic and got an ultrasound it was shown to be partially aborted but not completely. And to resolve this she was given a morning after pill and birth control pills and told in 2-3 weeks she would start bleeding to complete the process?
Is this scenario plausible?

Hello.
It is possible that what she bought on the black market probably did not work or were sub-standard medication. Regarding morning after pill, it is NEVER given for an abortion. A partial abortion is possible, but then when repeat medications are given, bleeding starts within 2 - 3 days and can continue upto 2 weeks.
Let me know if you have further queries.
Take care.
