Dear doctor,
I have been on oxycodone 10mg 650 mg, as per the prescription of my doctor. Recently I was found to have a cyst on my liver which is about 4 mm. Which pain management drug should I use? I heard that pain management drugs can cause liver damage. But the doctor who reviewed the CT scan told that it is not to be worried of. But I am a little bit tensed. Help me at the earliest.

Thanks for your question. Firstly, let me remind you that all pain killer drugs are processed and metabolized in the liver. A long term use of them may cause a certain amount of liver damage too. But the risk depends on existing liver diseases, use of alcohol, dosage of medication you take etc. As you told, the hepatic cyst in your liver is very small in size. No medication is required to remove this unless any symptoms are seen. So, it is better to wait for any ill effects and if anything occurs so, you should consult with your doctor. Good luck.
