Increasing TORCH IgG titre fetal risk

Resolved question:
my wife is 13 week pregnant. i got torch igg and igm test done for her a month back and the reading was:-

cmv igg 58.90 iu/ml
cmv igm 5.00 iu/ml.

i got igg done again a few days back and now the reading has come as 76.70 iu/ml.

I am a bit worried with the spike in reading here.My gyne has advised us to go for a detailed ultrasound.

My wife did have Pneumonia at birth. Could this be reason for the increase in igg?

I am worried with the prospects for the fetus now as my doctor said that an increase in igg is worrying as it may cause complication in pregnancy w.r.t to fetus growth/health.

Please advise!

Hello,
Thank you for your consult at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your concern.

First and foremost, a positive Ig G indicates that your body has developed immunity against CMV.

Only a positive IgM test indicates an active / recent infection.

Merely a positive Ig G needs NO TREATMENT. It is of no concern at all.

Varying values of Ig G maybe observed at different readings, as there is no specific cut off.

I have gone through your reports, and I assure you that there is no cause for concern here, as your Ig M values are normal.
Have detailed ultrasound though, as that is an integral part of pregnancy screening, otherwise do not worry about these lab values.

All the best.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to ask for further clarifications.
