Inflamed lining in nose after inhaling CALCIUM HYDROXIDE. Dangerous?

Resolved question:
I inhaled calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) in my nose a few years back. I got examined by a doctor who said the lining was inflamed. When look with a flashlight in my nose it seems inflamed still. When I look in the mirror my nose seems changed somehow. Is this dangerous? could I have damage inside my nose?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
The image that you sent, unfortunately, does not show the inflamed lining you were talking about. Such ingestion or inhalational poisoning has acute effects. It's been a few years and you should not worry.
The inflammation that you saw was probably the turbinates ( little projections inside the nasal cavity ), which look inflamed and red normally.
If you do not have any symptoms like difficulty in breathing or nasal bleeding, please do not worry.
Feel free to discuss further,
Dr. Jaydeep

Hello,
Nosebleeds could also be due to the weather or allergies.
Just to be on the safer side, get your nose examined by an ENT specialist, who can do an anterior rhinoscopy and check if the passage is fine.
It should be normal, still you can get it checked for your satisfaction.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
