Is negative sperm test after VASECTOMY trustworthy?

Resolved question:
I recently had a vasectomy performed back in june. I went back about 5 weeks later to have a sperm test done and the doctors office told me I was all clear. Is that a trustworthy assumption that I am in fact sperm free?

Hello.
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand my concern.
Yes if the doctor ran the tests and confirmed that there are no sperms then you're clear.
It is a very succesful preocedure and only 1 in a 1000 surgeries fail, and that is mostly due to inadequate precautions or incorrect technique.
Feel free to discuss further queries,
Regards.

Ok, I was asking because I was looking around and it says that usually you still can have a risk even 4 months after the procedure. For myself it has only been about 11 weeks and I found it kind of quick to be cleared by the Dr.

Hello.
Yes that risk is there as i said but the incidence is extremely low.
Its only 1 in a 1000.
However it is better if you wait up to 4 months to be absolutely sure.
But again if the doctor ran the tests and cleared, then there is no cause to worry.
Regards.

Some doctors ask to wait for 4 months and then resume the sexual activities.
But again if the doctor ran the tests and cleared, then there is no cause to worry.
