Losing weight with decreased appetite, tingling in hands. Treatment.

Resolved question:
Over the past month I have been losing weight and noticeably by my parents. I have a decreased appetite, tingling in my hands and foot, fatigue, gas, burping, and sometimes abdominal pain, occasional bitterness in my mouth and sometimes feeling like my food won't digest. I eat what I can. I went to the Emergency Room and I was treated for GERD. I was prescribed Famotidine and Zofran A week later I do not feel much better. All of my urine tests, and blood work came back normal. I was given an ultrasound to check for pancreatitis and gallstones...all were negative. I did take a stool test and I waiting for the result. Im not sure what's going on. Please help

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
GERD does not cause weight loss.
With history of weight loss, abdominal pain, gas and tingling, I would like to rule out malabsorption syndrome. There are many different causes for malabsorption.
A complete blood count, stool analysis ( which is already done) and an upper GI endoscopy with small bowel biopsy may be done as initial steps in the evaluation of your symptoms.
You can discuss with your doctor about these tests.
Get back to me with these tests results.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
