Hello,

Utovlan usually helps delay the menstrual bleeding and is usually taken in the mid cycle, around 15 days. As you have taken the dosage of your medication during the bleeding, it is unlikely to act immediately.

Utovlan tablets contain the active ingredient norethisterone, which is a synthetic hormone similar to the naturally occurring sex hormone, progesterone. It is used in a wide range of menstrual disorders and also to delay the menstrual bleeding.

Here are my recommendations-

1) The next time you are planning to take Utovlan, take it in the mid cycle, around 14-16 days. This will help in postponing the next menstrual bleeding, Keep In mind, excessive usage of Utovlan is known to cause irregular bleeding, pain during cycles, mood disorder, depression etc. Use it wisely.

2) Take a regular dosage of Tab Ferrous sulphate 150 mg once day for 2 months if you have excessive bleeding associated with the medication.

3) Maintain a regular routine of diet and exercise.

Thank you.
