NAUSEA and pain in upper abdomen after lunch.

Resolved question:
After lunch I had a sudden onset of pain in my upper abdomen right under my rib cage. That was about 2 hours ago. I actually went for a swim and I was ok in the water but once I got out I was in a lot of pain. I'm feeling slightly nauseated. And I'm shakey. I'm not sure if I should just let this run it's course or not.

Thank you

Hello. Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you. Rapid onset of upper abdominal pain is usually due to Pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas) or Cholecystitis (gall bladder inflammation).
It is always best to get an acute abdominal pain evaluated by a doctor. So please see your physician. I would also advise you to get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen done to rule out these two conditions. For pain relief you can take a Tylenol for now.
I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr.R.K.
