New WARTS are formed after CRYOTHERAPY for GENITAL WARTS.

Resolved question:
Hi Doctor,

My Wife is having Genital Warts since last 1 yr. Initially doctor applied Podowart and things came under good control with 2-3 left out.. then doctor suggested for Cryotherphy for 4 attempts.. but after doing cryotherphy, it got worsen and new warts have formed.

Meanwhile, Doctor told her to take HIV 1/2 test and VDRL test.

PFB details of the result :

HIV 1&2 Antibody Quantitative test : 0.16 value - Non Reactive.

VDRL - Non Reactive.

My Question is why its showing 0.16 and is it something which says she has HIV? We are really worried and request you to kindly explain.

We also took similar test about 8 months back in a different LAB and both test were Non reactive.

Note: There has been no sexual contact since last 8 months.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Our body forms similar antibodies for the viral infections we have during our lifetime. So whatever viral infections we get since our childhood produce some antibodies and this antibodies show up whenever we are tested for viral infections such as Hiv/ Hepatitis, e.t.c
So a value of 0.16 is only due to cross-immunity, and is not at all significant.
So, she does not have HIV infection. Kindly do not worry.
Regards.

Dr.. with Refference to Gential warts, which treatment u suggest as Both Podowarts,Cryatherphy is not showing promosing results.. while Podowart showed good progress and almost 90% was gone, by doing cryatherphy new warts appeared and it has become big now.
Also can she take HPV vaccination and will that help her. also is there any Side affects with this vaccination?

Hello,
No at this stage, HPV vaccination will not help her.
I recommend you continue Podowart then since it showed good results. Cryotherapy works in most cases, however, it did not seem to help her.
Podowart or Aldara cream helps in reducing the warts and prevents recurrence.
Regards.
