Hello, thank you for using ask a doctor service from Doctor spring.

I understand that you are experiencing numbness in your arms and legs since the last 10 days. This could be due to various reasons. The symptoms that you have described are suggestive of a condition known as Peripheral neuropathy.

But since these symptoms are only for 10 days this could be passing phenomenon and you need not be concerned now.

Peripheral Neuropathy commonly seen in diabetes. The other causes, which result in peripheral neuropathy, are kidney failure, vitamin deficiency, alcohol, AIDS and exposure to mercury, lead, rheumatoid arthritis. Peripheral neuropathy is a condition of the brain and spinal cord. Here the patients present with tingling sensation, numbness, burning sensation, weakness, and loss of balance. Usually it is symmetrical and affects similar joints.

I would suggest you to get a complete physical evaluation and blood sugar level tests like FBS, PPBS done for now. If the symptoms persists you might need further evaluations (including nerve conduction study)

Hope this helps. Thank you.
