Painful wrist movement after driil injury.MEDIAN NERVE injury?

Resolved question:
I had a drill tip slip and puncture my hand right above wrist on the pad below the thumb.

It bled like a head wound might

Right now wrist movement is very painful in multiple direction.

Did I injury a tendon/ ligament?

How long should I expect these symptoms to last?

Could I of injured the medial nerve?

Hello,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have read your question with diligence.
It looks that you have injured your base of thumb at the joint area.If it is a deep wound then you should be very cautious. There are chances that you might have infected or penetrate base joint of thumb. This is also the area from where nerves & vessels supplies to our hand passes. If you are not having tingling sensation or weakness then most probably you have not injured your nerves or vessels.
It is important time when you should act quickly. You should consult to your doctor & should have a course of antibiotic ,analgesic. You should keep limb elevated,do ice fomentation.Take a good analgesic like advil.
Hope this will help you,
Regards.
