Post partum vaginal hematoma.

Resolved question:
I gave birth 2 months ago, had a natural birth, and had stitches done. I had the normal bleeding after birth but after a week or so I had a different kind of bleeding that made the water in the toilet bowl bright red, and the tissue I used to wipe also had blood on it. As I wiped I felt something strange and it was very painful. I went to the doctor at around 5 weeks after birth, she told me I had a vaginal infection and i had to take antibiotics, and she also noticed a dangling piece of skin that was around an inch or so big, that was bright red and filled with blood right at the end of the vagina. And I realized it was the source of the pain i was feeling. The antibiotics the doctor gave me helped with the pain and also somehow stopped the bleeding. However it is still the same size and it's still slightly painful. The doctor suggested that the best course of action is to surgically remove it, since after all this time it stayed the same and didn't dry up.

Please help me with your opinion and i hope you tell me what to do.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us at DoctorSpring with your health concern.
What you describe is quite strange, it could be a post partum vaginal hematoma ( blood collection ), that resolved with antibiotics.
Sometimes, it might form a chronic lump.
Can you please upload the picture of the lesion that you mention - that would help me to guide you better.
All the best
Please do write back.
Take care.
