Rash in groin with testicular pain

Resolved question:
Hello again,
a rash has formed in my groin area, its red and it itches a bit. I also have some pain in my testicles regularly. Could these be linked to the unhealed wound on my foreskin? Are these signs of a bacterial infection? How should the rash be treated?
Thanks

Hello

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

The picture of the rash that you have sent seems to be of a fungal infection called tinea. Application of lamisil cream should help in resolving it. There also seems to be an added element of bacterial infection, application of mupirocin cream also will be useful.

Regarding the unhealed wound on the foreskin I would recommend that you send me a picture, without seeing the wound I cannot comment on it.

Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

Hey, I had some canesten antifungal cream at home, so i tried it on the rash, and it has stopped the itchiness and the rash is not so red, as you can see from the picture (the white stuff is the canesten cream).Should i continue use of this cream or use lamisil cream? I have encountered some bad smell from the rash.
The unhealed foreskin wound has not changed/healed in months. Can it be because of the fungal infection or perhaps a bacterial infection? If the infection stops, is the skin going to heal back?
thank you in advance!

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

I would recommend use of lamisil cream as its a more potent cream in case of tinea.

On the foreskin also, it's possible that you have the fungal infection, you can apply lamisil cream on it and see if it helps.

In case, lamisil cream doesn't start working in a week's time, it would be best to see a dermatologist.

Regards.
