Serious yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis with persisting rash

Resolved question:
I went to the doctor yesterday for a serious yeast infection. He told me I definitely had a yeast infection as well as bacterial vaginitis, both of which are very common in women. He gave me medication and said that if I didn't feel better I should get tested for GC. I feel a lot better, but there seems to be a rash left from when I had the yeast infection. I've read that it's normal to have a diaper rash. If I had Gonorrhea, would the medicine and topical cream for yeast infections cure the symptoms of it? Or would it remain the same/get worse?

There seems to be some technical problem. The reply I posted yesterday is missing. Hence copy-pasting.

Hello,

Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring.

The rash could be due to the yeast infection or the related inflammation and trauma (something like a diaper rash). Once the infections is fully under control the rash will also resolve. Gonorrhoea typically presents with burning micturition, pain during sex, vaginal discharges etc. Rashes are rare and occur at later stages.

Since the symptoms are improving your Doctor diagnosis seems to be correct. Gonorrhoea is less likely. The medication for bacterial vaginitis (usually Metronidazole / similar azoles) and the antifungal cream for the yeast infection will NOT cure or act against the Gonorrhoeae bacteria.

Hope this helps
