Shortness of breath, reduced OXYGEN SATURATION on walking. COPD.

Resolved question:
I have severe COPD, but cope with it for most essential activities. Recently the shortness of breath has become more onerous and it seems to have coincided with my recent inclusion of pineapple in my diet daily or even more than once daily. My oxygen saturations are fine when sitting, but drop like a stone into the low 80's when I get up and walk around to do things. I also have noticed some slight light headedness occurring through this same period of when I started the pineapple inclusion. I am female and 76 with no other diseases or ailments of note. I use Albuterol inhaler three times a day (2 puffs each) and Advair 250/50 twice a day. My chest feels heavy with a lot of mucus I don't usually have.

What would you advise?

Dear patient,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
May I know how a diagnosis of copd was made? What's the Total duration of symptoms? Any Associated allergic symptoms? Do you have a copy of pulmonary function test done? Have you done a cardio evaluation?
What was your baseline oxygen sat and have you done a 6minute walk distance?
All said and done I strongly recent albuterol usage.

The recent deterioration can be an infection which needs acute and aggressive management. I shall revert better if I know more details about you send your health life.

Regards,
