Small faint brown line in finger. Should I worry?

Resolved question:
Hello,

I'm a 25 y/o non-smoker. African - American, fairly active.

I have had a line (small faint brown line) on my index finger for the last 3 to 4 years. As I played football for a long time I never thought much of it.

Recently I've noticed that I have a similar line on my big toenail. Both are really faint; you can't see the one on my toe unless you're really looking for it.

A quick google search scared me, but mother is 46 and she has had similar lines for a while and she didn't even notice them until I asked her about them.

Should I be worried? Or is this just my anxiety?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern and I have reviewed the images shared by you.
This is definitely nothing to be worried about, it can be present normally in adult individuals and mostly indicates micronutrient deficiency. So, if you take a good multivitamin-multimineral supplement, it will disappear.
But I reassure you, there is nothing sinister here.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

Thank you for your response,
Everything I looked at online pointed me towards a rare form of melanoma that usually affects people in their 50s but I have anxiety and I just sort of went off the deep end for a minute there. Is there any particular type of vitamin I should be taking or just a simple one a day will do?

No, this does not look like melanoma at all.
However, I would still request you to get it physically examined once, as merely by seeing a picture, it is not proper to give a diagnosis.
But from what I can see, this is normal.
A normal vitamin would do.
