Small RED bumps all over body on wakingup. Cause?

Resolved question:
Hi. About 5 days ago I woke up with bumps on my body. I live in the US but currently I'm traveling in Colombia. Its not bed bugs since Ive changed my mattress. There not itchy at all and every day I wake up there seems to be more. Currently there around 40-50 red bumps all over my chest and back some are the size of a penny and some are really small. Please help me identify what these bumps are and what I can do/take to treat them. By the way the blue spots on the bumps are just marks I made to see if any more appeared.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
From the image attached, it looks like you could be having pityriasis rosea. PR is characterised by oval to round small red rashes with slight scaling at margins. Such lesions are usually preceded by large red scaly rash or rashes known as herald patch. Sometimes there could be a history of fever or preceding sore throat. PR lesions could be itchy. These are usually self limiting and resolve in few weeks.
However to have symptomatic response, one can take oral antiallergic like levocetrizine and apply calamine lotion mixed with steroid lotion.
Other differentials to be considered are tinea/ringworm, lesions of secondary syphilis, seborrheic dermatitis, drug rash.
So please let me know
If these lesions are itchy
if these lesions are typically ring shaped
if you have dandruff in scalp
any history of unprotected intercourse with unknown partner
any genital lesion
history of drug intake
history of herald patch.
Answer these queries and we may take the discussion further.

Take care
