Sorethroat, dull voice, clogged ears. LARYNGITIS/VIRAL INFECTION?

Resolved question:
Hello, last week I believe I either had laryngitis or a viral throat infection, I noticed my voice going away and woke up with a sore throat and no voice, I also had a fever and swollen lymph nodes which were not that tender and the next day and I noticed my left ear felt clogged. This week all my symptoms are pretty much better except my left ear still feels clogged and both of them are popping but there is no pain at all even if I plug my nose to exhale and try to clear them. I did consume a good amount of alcohol for my birthday the weekend prior to getting sick. I used ear drops and warm water to get ear wax out however that didn't help. Also my left side of my throat is still a little sore mainly in the morning but I believe it is because of allergies. Also I have a small cough now and mucus in my nose. Is there anything I can do? Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

You are suffering from throat infection for a week. and now you have left ear blocking sensation.
You are suffering from left Eustachian tube dysfunction (tube connecting ear and nose), it can get
closed due to infection of throat and nose.
as you throat infection is improving you need not start any antibiotic .
We can start Tab. Levocetirizine 5 mg once in night for 2weeks to improve Eustachian tube dysfunction.
as it started with cold possibility of wax in unlikely.
Still if you don't get improvement with Levocetirizine then you will need examination by local ENT
specialist.

But at present you can start Tab. Levocetirizine 5 mg once in night for 2 weeks safely.

Hope this helps,

Best regards
