Swollen abdomen, ball like in stomach. CANCER?

Resolved question:
Hello,
I would like to ask regarding my moms condition.
Before she used to have i think acid reflux, after she started working recently she got a ball like in her stomach near her belly button( felt like a babys head) sometimes its out, sometimea goes in, sometimes feels like all her abdomin is swollen.
We went to the emergency room tHey did blood test and urine test Dr said she has low iron and she should do an ultrasound, ( the ultrasound dep was closed) than he prescripted low iron pills for her and said she had some time of hernia i think hiatus hernia? He said thats what the ball was ( he felt it).

Im just worried that it might be stomach cancer im very very worried to the point where i dont even want her to so an ultrasound!

If it were god forbid stomacj Cancer would the dr know by touching it and blood+urine test?

Please reply very worried daughterr!!!!

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
With these information alone it is difficult to say whether she has stomach cancer . To know whether she has stomach cancer an upper GI endoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen may be done. Ultrasound scan may not reveal if there is cancer of stomach.

Some of the symptoms of cancer of stomach are abdominal pain, blood vomiting, black stools , loss of appetite and loss of weight.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr.R.K.

Hi,
No stomach cancer cannot be diagnosed with blood and urine tests.
You can get an upper GI endoscopy done if you want to rule out stomach cancer.
Regards.
