Resolved question:
I am at my wit’s end as I suspect myself to be caught with genital herpes or cold sores. All that happened were like this. Recently, about a month ago, I had sex with a guy. To my foolishness, it was an unprotected one. Later, I had sex with another guy and I stayed with him for a month or so. I am not pretty sure, whether he had cold sores as I found something like cold sores on his lip. He used to give me oral sex and at times we engaged in penetrative sex too. After a month, I started getting my periods and it was fairly good as usual. But when it is over, I started getting pain and cold sore like bumps and pops in my genital area which were painful too. I was not even able to move freely due to pain. I strongly believe that this is due to genital herpes. Now I am really afraid of my situation. Is there a chance that I may give herpes to the guy I am staying with now? Or, is it so, that I have got affected from him? How to cure this and cold sore at home? Please help me at the earliest.

Thanks for your question. Anyway it is unfortunate to know about your condition. The disease you have might be genital herpes which is a commonly seen sexually transmitted infection. It is caused by Herpes Simplex Virus or HSV. As you told, you might be having a type 1 infection because you used to perform oral sex. HSV type 1 virus usually affects mouth and lips and thought to be as cold sores. However no cold sore remedy is available for treating this condition. It is recommended to consult your doctor for treatment. There may be possibilities of other infections and STDs too, which should be tested at the earliest. So, it is advised that you should consult with your family doctor for further investigation. However, no complete cure is possible for HSV infection and it is treated symptomatically. Take care.
