Resolved question:
I am terrified I have MS. I have been getting tingling and numbness in my hands, forearms , and scalp area. I have also been waking up at least 3 or 4 times a night with a very intense urge to urinate.
I have read online this is all symptoms of MS.
I had these same symptoms about 3 months ago. However , I had an MRI WITHOUT dye and it came back clear. I have read online that you can have a clear MRI yet still have MS
I am terrified!
Do you think I have MS??

Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.
First of all, I would like to reassure you that your symptoms are not specific for MS, and it is highly unlikely to have MS with normal MRI.
Tingling and numbness are very non specific symptoms, and can occur in various neurological problems. The commonest reason in your case could be carpal tunnel syndrome, where there is a mild compression of median nerve at the level of wrist. In addition, a deficiency of vitamin B12 and vitamin D should also be excluded.
MRI can not be normal in MS, unless we are dealing with pure visual symptoms, such as optic neuritis.
