Unable to bend swollen toe. SPRAINED/broken?

Resolved question:
My little toe on my left foot has been swollen and will not bend very much for about a month now. It started out fairly mild with minimal swelling and felt a little stiff, but over the last two weeks it has gotten worse to where the toe is swollen around the joints and sore to try and move it. As far as I know I have not injured it, it does not feel like it's sprained or broken. It's more of a constant pressure and ache, mainly around the base of the toe, though the top joint is the one that will not bend much at all.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have read your query with diligence.
Toe swelling in your case may be due to following reasons-
-Cellulitis
-Formation of B union
-Sprain
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Gout
You should have blood investion to rule out swelling .This is needed because you are not having any history of injury. You should ask for estimation of hemoglobin, blood sugar,TOTAL & DIFFENRENTIAL BLOOD CELL COUNT,RA factor,CRP,Serum uric acid,ESR,To evaluate the pathology.A x ray of affected part will also help in having diagnosis.
At present you may have a good analgesic. In such cases I prescribe advil or indomethacin. Please consult your doctor for prescription.
Hope this will help you.
Feel free to discuss further,
With best wishes.
