Urethrocele with pressure symptoms in abdomen

Resolved question:
Hello,
I believe I have a urethrocele (have 2 years of Nursing school completed) but up until now I haven't really had any symptoms other than being able to see it at the opening of my vagina. I first noticed it around 2 months ago. I have not had any children and I am 21 years of age. However, since last night I have had an incredible amount of pressure in my lower abdomen and it's making it difficult to do anything other than lay down. It isn't constipation or period pains, but when I do a digital exam I feel a lump further up than the urethrocele is. If I go to a doctor, what could they do for me? I currently don't have insurance so I don't want to go just for them to tell me what I already know but don't do anything about it. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrea

Hello.
Thanks for writing to doctorspring.com with your health concern.
-Could you please upload a picture, so that I can opine whether it is actually a urethrocele ?
-Also, how big is the lump and what texture ?
-Do you have any urinary symptoms ?
The lump could be the bladder - you might be having a cystocele associated.
It could even be the surrounding lax vaginal wall.
If you go to a Gynaecological Specialist, a per speculum and digital examination would confirm the diagnosis.
Additional uro-flowmetry could quantify and diagnose those too.
Needless to say, a simple surgery could take care of the urethrocele, if present.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Take care.
