Vaginal bleeding with IUD and functional ovarian cyst

Resolved question:
Hi! I was recently admitted to hospital due to vaginal bleeding and the end report I got for the bleed was that the uterus is normal in size and anteverted with a 6 mm thick endometrial echo. There is an IUD within the endometrial cavity. Where is a 3x2 cm septated cyst on the right overly likely representing a functional cyst. The left ovary appears normal. There is no significant post void residual volume in the bladder. There is no evidence of pelvic mass identified. My question to you is, am I in any harm?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern.

Your ultrasound report is absolutely normal.
The uterus is normal.
The endometrium ( lining ) is fine.
There is an IUD inserted, but then you would know that.

A functional cyst is quite harmless.

You do not appear to be in any harm.
What was the diagnosis ( cause ) of the vaginal bleeding as told to you by your doctor ?

Also please provide more details regarding the nature of bleeding, reason for hospitalization etc.

Going by the ultrasound report, No, you are not in any harm.

Take care.
Please feel free to revert.

Regards
Dr Vazirani
