Vomiting, nausea for whole day. Cause and treatment?

Resolved question:
Vomiting and nausea for the whole day. I don't think it's food poisoning because my sister is feeling fine and she ate what I ate. I am 100% not pregnant. What should I do to treat this?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Acute gastroenteritis does not necessarily involve everyone with the exposure. Your symptoms are suggestive of indigestion.
As of now you should start on Tab. Ondansetron 4 mg thrice daily before every meal. This should reduce your nausea and vomiting.
If you develop other symptoms such as diarrhea or abdominal pain, please revert back to me.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.

Hi Dr. Tripathy,
I've stopped votmmiting and feeling nasious yesterday and today I was able to eat. I haven't had any diarrhea but I did see spots and traces of blood (not period blood). I'm quite concerned about it. I am also feeling gasy and had constipation for the past few days. To clarefy the blood wasn't with the stool.
I await your guidance.
Thank you

Hello,
Thank you for your follow-up.
The bleeding that you saw could be a result of straining secondary to constipation or could also be from an acute gastritis episode.
I advise you to take Cap. Omeprazole 20 mg once daily before breakfast for 3 days. Let me know if there is further bleeding after taking the Omeprazole. You should also stop Ondansteron ( if you used it previously to prevent nausea ). Please avoid foods like broccoli, cabbage, peanuts, dairy products, e.t.c, till you feel normal.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
