Will contraception injection along with morning after pill affect fertility

Resolved question:
Hi,

Please make sure this is kept anonymous.

I need your advice. When I was 18 years old (19 years ago) I had intercourse with my girlfriend. She was on a contraception injection (not sure which one) and I was paranoid and neurotic and begged her to take the morning after pill which she did from a clinic. For a long time I have been worried that this may affect her long term fertility and chance of having a baby. I do not have contact with her now. Could you confirm whether this is the case? I am in the UK so don't know if birth control meds are different here.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.

Please be rest assured - the morning after pill has NO LONG TERM impact on fertility.
At the most, it can cause irregular bleeding and irregular menstrual cycles for a month or two.
There is no long term fertility implication with the morning after pill.
Please do not worry on that score at all.
Take care.

That was not what I asked. I asked if taking the contraceptive injection AND the morning after pill at the same time could effect long term fertility. Please can you be specific to this and explain why.
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry,I came to understand that the question was specific to the morning after pill which you insisted that she should take.

Taking the morning after pill in addition to the contraception injection also does NOT impact fertility in the long run.
The brand of contraceptive injection differs from country to country, however the basic composition is the same.
Ideally while she is on that shot, there is no need of additional contraceptive measures, but even if she did take the morning after pill on that occasion, it will not impact her fertility in the long run at all.
Hope this clarifies the picture.
Rest assured.
Take care.
