Will PROSTATE INFECTION cause pain/discomfort opening the urethra?

Resolved question:
just had a cystoscopy done trying to figure out what is causing mild pain/discompfort opening of urethra where there is a slight scratch that was caused by passing a kidney stone over 2 years old patientago. Cystoscopy did not find anything wrong. Doctor is now saying could possibly be a prostrate infection. He is putting me on anti biotics for three weeks.
My question is: is it possible that I could have a prostrate infection on and off for over 2 years?
The pain/discompfort comes and goes. Usually with me for a few weeks then stops for a month or two

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
It is quite possible that you are having prostate infection.
Prostate infection typically has waxing and waning pattern and patient experiences symptoms at intervals with no symptoms for days to weeks.
You should take antibiotics for 3 weeks and see how you do. I feel you will get better once you complete a full course of antibiotics.
Feel free to discuss further,
Take care
Sincerely
