Am I suffering with tuberculosis?

Resolved question:
My Chest X-Ray reports says that left hilum appears mildly bulky, could be due to lymphnodal enlargement. What does that mean? My Blood report says that ESR is 20 mm/h. Am I suffering with tuberculosis?

Hello,

Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring.

No there is nothing suggestive of Tuberculosis as of now. I am assuming that you are not having clinical signs. ESR will typically be in the range of 100s in Tuberculosis. Lymph Nodes are certain solid glands in the body, which get enlarged when there is an infection/inflammation of any cause. So if there is an enlargement the cause is looked into. But in your case its a doubtful possibility that lymph nodes are enlarged. Its very difficult to find enlarged nodes in a Xray, unless it has some characteristic features. In your particular case it seems the 'enlargement' is doubtful. To make sure, your Doctor may a CT scan and CT scan will tell you for sure.

Hope this helps.
