Chest pain, TIETZE SYNDROME, normal EKG. TROPONIN.

Resolved question:
I was diagnosed with tietze syndrome last week and given prednisone which has helped a great deal. I was having chest pains, and went to the ER.

EKG-Norma

Chest xray normal

BP-112/74

Pulse-66

Troponin 1 level was 0.02, cutoff on lab paperwork is 0.05

All other blood work normal.

I am concerned about the troponin level. If everything else is healthy why the troponin of 0.02

Is this a normal level, should I be concerned?

I am 38, and take Lipitor for my cholesterol.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

Troponin levels below the cut off limit are not a major worrying issue. Some amount of Troponin can be there due to breakdown of muscles. In case of severely ill patients small tropinin rise may indicate poor prognosis. But that isn't the case with you.

Feel free to discuss further,
