Chronic urticaria

Resolved question:
Have had a rash off and on for 3-4 months, extremely red, moderate swelling, itchy welts on arms, hands and face, minimal on legs and core. No tongue swelling or problems breathing. Have seen MD, Dermatologist and Allergist. Have tried topical steroids, Benadryl, oral steroids will no improvement. Prednisone finally worked once taking 100mg QD. Prednisone was d/c'd 3 weeks ago, now rash its back. No new foods, detergents, clothing, environment ect. Do you have any ideas of something new to try?

Hello

Thanks for posting your query.

I can understand your concern.

This seems like urticaria. It's also known as hives. I understand that you have tried a lot of medications, however I would recommend that you take a combination course of two anti histamines which will help suppress the allergic process responsible for the hives.

I would recommend taking tab. Allegra one in the morning and tab. Claritin once at night.

This should help getting the rash under control.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Take care
