I understand your concerns. The smell that you have described is probably due to a bacterial infection known as Bacterial vaginitis. It is one the most common cause of vaginal infections. This condition usually present with burning sensation while urination, pain during sex, Itching and passing a foul-smelling greyish discharge which is almost metallic. If it is not properly diagnosed, then it can lead to Pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, STD s, and eventually cause sterility. I would suggest you to avoid douches and use a mild soap for cleansing and use an antibiotic like tablet metronidazole 500 mg twice a day after food for 5 days. If it does not subside after 5 days, then you consult your obg-gyn doctor for further evaluation.
