CARUNCLE in eye with COLD SORES. Can I wear contancts?

Resolved Question:

I was talking with doctor Dr Manish Malhotra Order ID: 255538, Consultation ID: CS111520140148, about my swollen inflamed caruncle and I was wondering if I can still wear my contacts with it or if I need to stick with glasses as much as possible? He also recommended I see a ophthalmologist to vocalize my fear of cold sores, is that just for peace of mind or is that something that needs to be done incase it one day does spread from my lip to eyes? I mean if you tell me in your 100% honest best opinion you can give that I have zero worries of it one day spreading to my eye then I won't worry. Now of if seeing an ophthalmologist in person is something you recommend that needs to be done for a reason other than my own reassurance and peace of mind then I will see one. And just ignore this caruncle issue as it will go totally away on its own?

Thank you for your query at
As of now because of the caruncle it is better to stick to glasses.
Also i reviewed your previous case, and there is no need to see a doctor. The caruncle will go away on it's own.
Regarding the sores, you again don't need to see a doctor, you had one exposure of touching the eye with your contaminated finger, but one such exposure won't cause any harm.
I can understand your anxiety, but if there was any major scare i would have definitely told you.
I assure you the caruncle will go away on it's own.

Patient replied :

Here is 5 new pictures which I took just now which would be exactly 24 hours after the pictures i showed you in our previous case from yesterday if you remember how the caruncle looked then? Just thought I would take 5 new ones just now and let you check them again if you wouldn't mind and let me know what you think after seeing it after 24 hours?

There is nothing serious from the image you sent.
It will gradually resolve.
However why is your face so red? More than the eye, that's what concerned me.

Patient replied :

Maybe just the pictures? I'm not sure. Didnt really notice that. Theres two pictures of my face i just took

Then there is no concern.
It seemed like your face was slightly reddish.
The caruncle will also resolve on it's own.

Patient replied :

I added a picture and it isn't showing up for some reason. My face does get red sometimes. And sometimes it's a pinkish color.
