Some background info- 23 year old white female. Healthy weight (125 lbs) Family and personal hx of gallstones.My symptoms for the past 48 hours: excessive belching to the point where I cant get comfortable until I do, nausea, bloat, extreme fatigue, loss of appetite, random case of loose stool last night, slightly elevated WBC I already know my gallbladder is pretty much full of (rather large) stones but the walls are not inflamed and it doesn't seem to be infected. Could this simply all be gallbladder related or should I consider I might have a gastro problem as well?

Hello, Your symptoms do appear consistent with cholecystitis (inflammation of gall bladder). You mentioned that you know gall bladder walls are not inflamed. But, you did not mention the time of your previous consultation. As your symptoms are 48 hours old, you may have developed acute cholecystitis and elevated WBC suggest presence of infection. An ultrasound examination can be helpful in confirming the diagnosis or identifying other possible causes for your symptoms. These include acute pancreatitis, colitis (inflammation of large intestine), chronic appendicitis etc. Gall stones can also cause acute pancreatitis which in milder form can present with similar symptoms of nausea, vomiting, loose stools, loss of appetite etc., with elevated WBC. Infections like amoebiasis can cause inflammation of intestines (colitis) which may present similarly, but is more often associated with dysentery (blood in stool). If your previous consultation with your doctor regarding gall stones is before last 48 hours, I would suggest you to take another consult and get an ultrasound done to be sure about inflammation of gall bladder before going for other possibilities.
