Feeling cold on overdosing ACETAMINOPHEN. Treatment?

Resolved question:
Hi, I am a healthy 25-yr-old Caucasian female, with no history of liver problems or really any other conditions in general. I am worried, though, that I have overdosed on acetaminophen! Recently, I felt myself starting to get a cold, so I have been taking extra strength Tylenol along with Mucinex Fast Max during the day and NyQuil Severe Cold & Flu at night. I totally wasn't thinking that duh, these all have acetaminophen. I think that I have had 5,600mg of acetaminophen over the last 24 hrs, and I read that you are not supposed to have more than 4,000mg. Should I be worried? I have heard horror stories of people dying of acetaminophen overdose without realizing there was anything wrong with themselves.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
4000 mg of acetaminophen is the maximum permissible therapeutic dose per day. The toxic dose however is 7500mg.
You have taken more than maximum allowed therapeutic dose, but slightly less than the toxic dose.
But still I would advise you to contact poison center or go to ER for observation and tests to see the serum levels and to decide whether you need any antidote.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
