Pain, irritation at vaginal opening with creamy discharge. Treatment?

Resolved question:
I am a 22 year old female. My period started on the 15th of this month, usually lasts 7-8 days. Starting yesterday, I noticed pain/irritation at my vaginal opening/vulva. And I have a creamy blood tinged/light pinkish brown discharge. Today I am itchy in the same area and its red and irritated, does not burn when I urinate, no blood or anything in my urine, no other symptoms... I've been wearing an unscented panty liner for the past 2 days hoping it was just the end of my cycle and it would go away, but now I'm starting to get worried. What could this be ?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
This sounds like the beginning of a vaginal infection.
The redness, itching , irritation and pain all point towards an infection.
Can you take pictures of the area and upload them ?
That would help me to make a clearer diagnosis.

All the best
Looking forward to hearing from you.

It seems over the past 12 hours, the discharge has stopped. Or its nothing like it was, anyway. Now the area is just red, itchy, and irritated. I have been checked for STDs and so has my partner, we've only been with each other for the past 2 years. I have a feeling its a flare up of BV, which I've had before. Are you able to prescribe oral Metronidazole if I give you my pharmacy info? I've had the gel before and I don't like it.

Prescriptions online are not valid.
The pinkish discharge would be some remnant menstrual blood.
IT could be BV, but taking medication for it empirically MIGHT worsen it , if it is some other infection.
It is actually best to have a swab, confirm what infection it is, and then start medication.
Take care.
