Saliva sticks in throat but not liquids or food

Resolved question:
Hi, I am 24 and live in Australia, it is currently Winter time. I have an irritation in my throat. When I swallow my saliva it feels as though it gets stuck in my throat and doesnt easily go down. I do not feel this when I am eating food or drinking fluids, only with my saliva. If I let the saliva gently roll down to the furthest point of my mouth and then swallow, it is not as irritating, but if i swallow as normal then I feel it. It feels as though something might have swollen up in my throat.
The feeling is similar to when you have a chest infection and you clear your throat and the mucus releases, however in my case there is no mucus to release, by forcing to clear my throat I get relief but very temporarily, then the irritation can be felt again.
This problem has been ongoing for 12 months now, it has become more irritating and noticeable recently "we are now at the end of winter" I am not sure if it has something to do with weather?
I have had 2 blood tests, 1 of them my thyroid levels were high and the second one was normal, I have had a Barium Swallow test done to no avail. Currently waiting to see an ENT specialist, which I have been waiting for 7 months now.
Does anyone know what this might be? Doctors seem useless in my area at the moment, just basic GP's that are only good for handing out a medical certificate, hoping someone can help online. I guess I am worried that it is a tumor or something serious. The best condition that describes my problem is called Globules Sensation which I googled. I have tried Acid Reflux medicine for the past week at my own advice but it didnt do much.
If you have ever been dehydrated and tried to swallow, you would have felt a dry sensation in your throat, it feels similar, even though I am well hydrated and keep my fluids up.

Hello,

Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring. Your problem seems to be ALLERGIC PHAYNGITIS. It is common in young age, more frequent when somebody have history of hay fever or skin allergy.

Your symptoms are not suggestive of any tumor, so don't worry about it.

Please mail me value of your thyroid test also. Do you have cough or sneezing ?

You can continue anti reflux medication and can add Tab. Monteleukast 10 mg once in night for one month and Tab. Levocetrizine 5 mg once in night for 1 week.

Hope it will help you. Please feel free to discuss further and get back with more info.

Regards
