Hello,
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health query.

It is very common to develop thrush ( yeast infection ) after taking antibiotics, as antibiotics deplete the normal vaginal flora.

It is always better to confirm the diagnosis with a gynecologist before beginning treatment, as if it is some other infection / other cause for infective symptoms - then the wrong medications might aggravate it. Hence, I strongly recommend a gynaecological examination before beginning the treatment.

If this is absolutely impossible, I can outline the treatment, but again the reminder to insist on a check up before commencing treatment.
First - do not rub, itch, or handle the area excessively.
Second - avoid intercourse till you heal.
Third - have your blood sugars tested.
Fourth - You can use Clotrimazole vaginal suppositories for 6 weeks, and local Clotrimazole ointment ( am not providing brand names as you would have to procure the available products from the pharmacist , or get them on prescription from a gynecologist ).
Fifth - Alongwith the antifungals, also use probiotics for a month to restore the normal flora.

Wash the private parts with warm lukewarm water.
Do not use any douches, cleansers , medicated or perfumed soaps and cleaning agents.
Wear soft cotton / organic underclothes.
Use local neosporin powder to keep the area dry and non damp .

All the best.
Please feel free to ask for further clarifications.
