Should CARBAMIDE PEROXIDE not be used more than four days?

Resolved question:
I was wondering why all labels state not to use carbamide peroxide for more than four days and for only twice a day? I believe I have an ear infection because my hearing has become severally muffled. It started in my left ear and now both ears are suffering from this. My right ear also suffered from a throbbing sensation and i could hear a whossing sound that pulsated. I went to the doctor and was told that I have wax build up and to get ear drops. That sounds like a symptom and not the root cause. I want to clear up the wax so I can hear again normally. Why only for four days can I use Debrox Drops containing carbamide peroxide?

Hello,

Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

You are suffering from bilateral ear infection with throbbing sensation tinnitus(whossing sound). Local doctor advised ear drops for ear wax.
Carbamide peroxide is used to dissolve ear wax. Usually if put it in ear than wax becomes soft and it can be cleared. As it soften the wax if it is in prolong contact of skin of ear canal or ear drum it can also cause damage(ear drum is very thin .1 mm thickness, some time in healed perforation even thinner). But in some cases when ear wax is very hard or impacted then we can use it for 1 week also.
If you are already putting this ear drop then you need to consult your local ENT specialist and he can clean your ear with examination (may be under microscope). He can look for infection and pus also and can treat it also. Once the ear is cleaned fully than you need not to put ear drops for at least 6 months to 1 year.
Hope it helps,
Feel free to discuss further,

I went to the hospital and was told I have ear effusion. How long does this take to clear up? Anything I can do to speed up recovery time? I've never had this before in my life. Any reason I got it now at age 32? Should I take amoxacillin?
