simple cyst in my right ovary size 2.7 x 2.2 cm

Hi, i am 25 years female, I have done pap smear and found that there is infection. I am having irregular periods and spotting from the past 4 months. In ultrasound there is simple cyst in my right ovary size 2.7 x 2.2 cm with internal echoes. the endometrium is thick measuring 15mm. Please advice me what to do.

A simple cyst is a follicular cyst, which persists due to unruptured follicle (functional cyst). This is due to anovulation, where the egg that is matured is not released from the ovary and is accumulated in the cyst. These type of cysts usually regress over time by their rupture, causing severe pain. It is advised better to wait and watch. On the other hand, regarding the infection in the pap smear, you haven't mentioned the details of the smear. It could just be simple bacterial or viral (HPV). I would recommend you to consult a gynaecologist for establishing the diagnosis and for further workup.
