Small lump on penis with pus and blood. STD?

Resolved question:
My boyfriend has had a small lump on the bottom Of his penis along the shaft for ages (maybe 6months or so). Until three days ago it didn't hurt him or do anything. Then it got bigger and turn into a boil looking thing. Yesterday we pushed a lot of pus and blood out of it. After this a hard bit of white stuff (like a core) popped out. It looked like a big crater today with a tiny bit of pus.
Please what is this? Would it be an STD? Should I get checked out?

I can't get a picture due to being back at work. The swelling has gone down this morning but was still hard around the outer crater part. It just looks like a hole in his penis with a hard outer shell.

Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
There are two possibilities of such a swelling with pus. Firstly it could be a bacterial infection, or could be due to a long standing folliculitis. You can apply Mupirocin ointment over the lesion 2-3 times a day to control the infection.
Once other possibility ( less chances ) is that of Molluscum Contagiosum ( viral infection ) but in this case there is a cluster of lumps rather than one. Sometimes it can be infected with a super added bacterial infection leading to pus formation.
Since there is active pus now, you should start applying the ointment.
If it does not settle down in a week's time, then a clinical examination by dermatologist is recommended,
Regards.

Thank you so much. Just to clarify though, I shouldn't be worried about getting checked for STD's then. It wouldn't be an STD by there only ever being the one lump. I was checked out before we got together and he said he was too. Just double checking. i thought it might have been a boil of such. Thank you again we will get onto some ointment. :)

Hello,
It does not sound like an STD and does sound more like a bacterial infection.
Let me know after the application of ointment.
Regards.
