Hello
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Relax, there is no need to panic, but you should not ignore post menopausal bleeding.
The causes can be - cervical polyp, erosion, growth on the cervix etc.
But commonest reason is atrophic vaginitis.
AFter menopause, local vaginal tissue becomes dry and brittle and prone to bleeding and breakage, more so if you are not sexually active.
This is easily treated with local estrogen creams.
Please consult a Specialist OB - GYn and go for an internal exam, Pap smear and a pelvic utlrasound scan.
That will clarify the diagnosis.
All the best.
please feel free to discuss further.

The bleeding mentioned in my earlier quetion has continued for a whole day today, just like bleeding durin a common period.
I will be seeing as OB-GYN specialist tommorow and forward the report to you for further consulation,

Please get the workup done and let me know.
If it is like a proper period, it is less likely to be atrophic vaginitis.
You need to have a Pap smear, internal exam and a pelvic ultrasound scan.
Get that done, and let me know.
Wish you good health always.

Please find the attached reports of the test our local doctor has conducted.

Yes, I have gone through the reports.
TSH level is raised, you need to start Thyroid medication after consulting an Endocrinologist.
Also, the endometrium ( lining of the uterus ) is prominent.
You need a D and C ( tissue biopsy ) to know the reason alongwith hysteroscopy ( visualization of the interior of the uterus with a scope).
Please get that done, and forward the biopsy report to me.
Has Tranexa managed to control the bleeding ?

I had PAP smear done on monday, doctor said that the result will come on saturday.
Doctor also said that i have to do D&C hyteroscopy on me but for that she will have to admit me for 1 day to complete the procedure. When i asked why the procedure required 1 day of admission in the hospital,, she didn't say anything. Therefor i am asking you doctor to elaborate and give me the deatails regarding the procedure done during D & C hyteroscopy.
Also should i undergo D&C hyteroscopy OR the pap smear test will reveal the problem that i am having.
I am scared for my life please help doc.

Please relax first of all.
There is nothing life threatening here.
These are problems that often happen around the time of menopause.
Please relax, trust me.
Pap smear and D and C / hysteroscopy are two different things.
Pap smear just assesses the exterior surface of the cervix, while hysteroscopy will visualize the interior of the uterus and D and C means taking an actual biopsy.
The procedure generally takes around 30 minutes.
But yes, you would be admitted in the morning, some preparations are done, and then you will be sent home around 4 - 6 hours after the procedure.
The procedure involves seeing the inside of the uterus with a scope ( camera ) and then taking a biopsy.
It is not a very complicated procedure, and it is done under general anesthesia.
Your doctor should explain the whole process to you, since you are getting so anxious about it.
Many hospitals do not admit the patient, but it is done as a daycare procedure, where the woman comes to the centre in the morning, and is sent home by afternoon.
Please, it is a very basic and simple procedure.
Relax, get it done, and then please forward both reports to me - the Pap smear and the hysteroscopy with D and C.
I hope this manages to calm you down.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Prayers for you.
Take care.
