Hello, Diarrhea can be acute (if it is less than 2 weeks) or chronic which is common in children. In most cases, it eases within several days but sometimes takes longer. The main risk is Dehydration .So the main treatment is to give your child plenty of fluids. Possible infectious causes are:

a)Gastroenteritis virus responsible are Rotavirus or Adenovirus.

b)Food poisoning – Caused by bacterial infection of Campylobacter, Salmonella and E. Coli.

c)Water Contamination- Non infectious causes, rare in children but can occur. E.g.: Colitis, food intolerance.

Symptoms will be from slight to watery diarrhea associated with cramp pains in the abdomen, vomiting, fever, aching limbs and headache. The degree of dehydration varies from child to child. Since your child is refusing taking orally, the only other alternative is start intra venous drip that will stabilize the child s condition. This requires hospitalization. I would suggest you to consult your pediatrician or take the child immediately to the ER for further management. Hope this helps. Thank you.
