Had ALCOHOL in early pregnancy. Possibilities of FAS?

Resolved question:
I just found at 8 weeks I'm pregnant and have been drinking 3-4 drinks a day, I'm terrified will my baby be ok? Is FAS a possibility?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern.

To be frank with you, yes, FAS is a distinct possibility.
Consuming alcohol on a daily basis peri-conceptionally (around the time of conception) and during the first trimester of pregnancy significantly increases the risk of having FAS.
What you can do now is take daily folic acid supplements 5 mg, per day, and totally abstain from alcohol for the remainder of the pregnancy.

All the best.

Please feel free to discuss further.
