Infant with delayed head holding and social milestones

Resolved question:
Hi,

My daughter is 7 months old, she is not able to hold her head straight, she is not laughing, not giving proper eye contact. My Pediatrician said, at this age the head circumference should be 40cm, however she has 35.5 cm. And again he is not sure as my baby is normal or she has some abnormalities. Please suggest

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com.

I have noted the description of your daughter's development. I would agree that there is a delay in the development and she is behind other children of similar age in terms of motor and cognitive skills.

In addition, her head size is also less.

She needs to be investigated for the underlying cause.

In the beginning, an MRI scan of brain, EEG and thyroid profile would help.

Was there any problem at the time of delivery when she was born?

I hoe it helps. Please get back if you have any follow-up queries.

Best wishes,

Thank you for getting back, and providing more information.

It is good to note that the delivery was sort of normal, except for caesarian section.

I would be pleased to know the reports and advise you further.

Best wishes
