Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
If you have no other alternative, then you can take Ofloxacin, because it is not that effective in chest infections. It is good for GIT infection, UTIs, and kidney infection. However if no alternative, you can continue.
For chest infection, I will advise you to take Pulmocef CV 500 twice a day.
Considering that you are already on Ofloxacin and you have not finished the treatment, continue with Oflox, and if the chest infection worsens then start Pulmocef too.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

I am on Oxflacine, two a day, can I increase the dose to 4 a day for a couple of days?

Hello,
No please do not exceed the recommended dosage.
Just try with Ofloxacin for a couple of days, and if it does not work then add Pulmocef ( Cefuroxime ) to the schedule.
Regards.
